A day in the life {iPhone photos}

Over the past couple of days, I've found myself taking more photos on my phone because it is easier to catch those cute moments.  Marley is nearly on the move!  She scoots in circles and can get from one end of a room to another in no time.  We will seriously be in trouble soon!!!  Need to re-babyproof...

Marley & Lily were supposed to have their pictures taken tomorrow but since Marley isn't officially sitting up yet we had to reschedule.  Lastnight she sat up for just a few seconds.  Getting closer and closer every day!!!

I just love this picture of Lily watching it rain... and look at her pretty long hair!  We still have yet to cut it...

And look at all the hair Miss Marley has too :)

and today in the backyard...

and all of this happened while Lily and I ran to Target this evening...

Flood...

Oh how I am stressing out about this flood.  I continue to hope and pray that it will not affect us at work...

Here are some photos from exactly 2 years ago at Gavin's Point Dam... you can see a HUGE diffence in what it looks like today!

I borrowed these from a work friend who was up at Gavin's a few days ago...

Marleys 1st tooth!

Marley's first tooth came in last week.  Her smile is so much cuter {not that it wasn't before} with her new pearly white!  I was finally able to capture a photo of her very first tooth!

She has been unusually upset the last few days, the 2nd bottom tooth is probably working its way up...

Big Storm!

Woo hoo... It's my 100th post!

Monday night when I got off work we went out for a quick dinner then stopped at the grocery store to pick up a few things.  When we walked out of the store the sky was literally black.  It did not look good.  As I was putting the cart away, the sirens stared going off.  I ran to the truck and called Brians sister to see what was going on.  We didn't have far to get home but if there was a tornado close I wanted to know!  Luckily it was only due to high winds.  The clouds were moving so fast it was crazy.

We got home and ran the girls into the house.  It didn't rain right away but it sure was windy.  We secured out plants on the back deck then Brian stood outside and watched the clouds.  Probably not the brightest idea but they were really neat...

Father's Day

Sunday Brian had to work so the girls and I drove out to Shelby to see my dad.  I was anticipating a long trip thinking Lily would say she needed to potty frequently.  I bought a little travel potty and had it all set up just in case.  I was super surprised when she made it the whole way out there and never said she had to go and was dry!  Kudos to Lily!!!  She is still doing super with the potty training... just need to work on the poop and night time training.

Earlier in the week I had Lily make a couple of art projects for daddy.  I got a plate kit that she could color on and then I put a picture on it.  She also colored a picture that I put in a matted frame.  They both turned out really cute!

On Sunday, Lily had a blast playing with her cousins.  She doesn't get to do this often enough... They played so well in the back yard.  They even got to run in the sprinkler.  None of the kids had their bathing suits so we all decided to just let them run around in the under-roos... They were so cute!  Lily will hate me when she is older for this one!

Lily doesn't see Grandpa Don very often.  My dad was afraid that Lily wouldn't talk to him.  I laughed and said give her 5 minutes and she won't be quiet.  Sure enough she warmed right up to him and she tried to get him to play dollies... So cute

She was afraid of the water for the longest time... Then as it was time to leave she decided to jump right in and stood in front of the water!

When daddy got off work we had dinner and he opened his gifts.  We gave him 2 shirts, a new Huskers mug, and the art projects.  My plan is to hang the art projects along with some photos in our bedroom.  Will post photos when I get that finished.

BIG girl bed!

Yesterday Brian went to NFM to get everything we needed to make Lily's bed into a full size bed.  Lily's crib was a "built to grow" set that can be converted to a toddler bed and a full size bed.  All we had to purchase were the wood rails and slat rolls.  We got just a mattress for now so the bed won't be too high for her.  We figured since she was doing ok with the toddler bed that we may just as well get this step out of the way too!  Lily's

Lastnight, Lily and I went to Target to pick out her new bedding.  I was really thinking we would do Tinkerbell sheets and such but Target didn't even carry full size sheets in Tinkerbell.  Bummer!  So Lily picked out a cute heart quilt and polka dot sheets.  She even got a princess pillow!

Tonight, Brian put the bed together.  It is quite a bit bigger than she is but she will grow into it.  It takes up so much more space in her room too so I think I may have to rearrange a tad to make things work better.

Lily stalled quite a bit before falling asleep.  We started the process about 8:40 and she didn't go to sleep until around 10:00.  After several trips to the potty she crashed in her new bed!

sweet dreams :)

Party Prep... Potty Training... Teething...

I have spent the last couple of weeks planning Lily's 3rd Birthday party.  I said this year I was going to go simple and it didn't turn out that way... I am going to attempt to make everything this year as far as cake and such... I purchased the decorations from my favorite site, Etsy!

On Tuesday, I made a test run of the oreo lollipops I plan to make.  Needless to say it didn't go well.  After telling Brian about the mess, he suggested I put the dipped oreos in the freezer to help them set.  Voila, it worked and they were so pretty!  I wrapped one up on the counter and was saving it so Brian could see it when he get off work.  Not that he would care much, but I was proud of myself.

As I was feeding Marley, I noticed Lily kept walking into the kitchen and rustling a few things around.  The last time she walked back into the living room, she had oreo all over her mouth.  She had gotten her stool {the one we took away for good reason} and helped herself to the lollipop.  She said, MMM, thats good!

Silly girl!

big helper!

the half eaten masterpiece!

and again, a big helper!
Lily has been doing a GREAT job potty training!  We couldn't be more proud.  She is accident free through the day with pee and has had a few poop accidents at night.  She will continue to sleep with a pull up {nighttime panties} for now... She is also sleeping great in her bed now that we took the front rail off.  The other night after she fell asleep, she somehow made it to the floor.  So cute!

Miss Marley's first tooth finally broke through on Sunday!!!  She has been doing pretty good considering.  She was only fussy a few evenings right before bed.  She is chewing on anything and everything she can get her little hand on.  It is so cute when she smiles and you can see her little tooth peeking through :)
