I LOVE Fall

Fall is my favorite time of the year!  I love the cool crisp days where we can open the windows at home and air out the house.  I've even had my fall decorations out for almost 2 weeks now.  Probably a bit early but I jumped at the chance when I had the free time.

We've had lots going on here... Both girls were sick, got better, and are now sick again.  Lily has been in preschool for 2 1/2 weeks and has had 2 colds.  I guess we better get used to it.  Marley just isn't getting a break at all.  She got over her ear infections and bad cold then wound up getting a horrible diaper rash.  I finally had to call the doctor and they called in a prescription cream for her.  The poor girl couldn't even sit down and kept her legs straight when we picked her up.

Lily had some more cute projects she brought home from school.  On her second day they took pictures and made these cute apple frames.  I am just in love with all these cute things.  I can't wait to see what else she makes!

all ready for school!  Lily calls this her "Tinkerbell" hair :)

speaking of Tinkerbell... She didn't realize I was taking these pictures.

this one she posed for...

There is a new frozen yogurt place not far from our house.  Its called Yoji.  They have several machines with all kinds of flavors.  You can either mix the flavors or get just one kind.  Then there are infinite possibilities for toppings.  You weigh the yogurt then take it home.  Its a bit pricey but we had two 50% off coupons which helped a bit.  It is YUMMY!  Lily and Marley were begging for bites.

All ready for her first school pictures.  Can't wait to see what these look like.  She doesn't sit still for much!

While Lily was at school and Marley was napping I made some new headbands.  Lily LOVED them.  She was so excited she wore this all day... And yes she put it on all by herself.  She didn't want any help!

Last pictures I have of them in their car seats...

Today the girls and I went to pick up Lily's new car seat.  Marley was getting too heavy to carry in the infant seat and kept messing with the canopy so she is now in a big girl car seat.  She got Lily's convertible car seat.  I washed the cover today and re thread the straps so it would fit Marley.  Then after dinner we put the seats in the car.  As the girls sat there buckled, Lily looked at Marley and said, "That's my seat..."  Smart cookie!

I knew which seat I wanted for Lily and there were several color choices.  I showed them all to her and of course she picked the hot pink one.  It actually looks pretty sharp.  She has been getting herself in and out of the car seat on her own lately.  Every time we get in the car she says, "I wanna do it myself."  Independent little girl.

Oh and I almost forgot... Marley has let go while standing a few times.  She is getting very daring these days.  She also said ma ma and da da yesterday.    My little baby is growing up way too fast.

Our BIG eater!!!

Big girl eating hot dog...

I am so pleased to say that Marley {holding my breath} has been a SUPERB eater over the last several days.  She is strictly eating table foods with an occasional homemade baby food if needed.  While Brian was out of town I experimented a bit and she was in LOVE with real food.

all done!  I wished I would have taken a pic of what was on here... She ate every last bite :)

So far Marley has eaten:

An entire pancake
An entire hot dog (Lily has NEVER eaten a hot dog)
Mac & Cheese
Lunch meat
Cheese
Hamburger (again, Lily has NEVER eaten hamburger)
Steamed cauliflower & broccoli
Roasted sweet potato chunks (made by mommy)
Toast
Grilled cheese
Carrot bites
Whole milk yogurt
Banana chunks
Peaches and Pears

If she keeps this up I will be one proud mommy!!!

sneaking in a bite of daddy's cereal too!

New hair pretties

Brian left Thursday around noon to go to his best friends wedding in Wisconsin.  The girls and I were supposed to go but 8 hours in the car just didn't sound like too much fun.  Plus Brian would have been so busy anyway for several days we wouldn't even have seen him.  So I stayed home with the girls.  It turned out for the best anyway since Marley was so sick.

We had a very nice uneventful weekend.  We didn't do too much outside of the house.  We made a trip to Hobby Lobby on Friday afternoon to get some supplies for my new project.  I found a few tutorials online on how to make wool felt flower headbands, clips, and pins.  It seemed like something I could handle.  So here are a few of my first pretties...

I got bored with the wool so I dug into a bag of clothes ready for the Goodwill...

This one really didn't turn out the greatest... but I still thought it was cute.

Then on Saturday and Sunday I made a few more...

Marley is not a fan of the headbands... maybe some day :)

Lily on the other had was very excited to wear them to school...

Miss Marley was 10 months old last Friday.  I had quite the time trying to take pictures of her with her monthly sticker.  She wouldn't leave the thing alone.  So I ended up sticking it to her back where she couldn't get to it.  Ha Ha!

poor girl just didn't want her picture taken!

Marley is walking along the couch and still tries to stand up on her own but just doesn't have what it takes yet.  Soon enough though!

Momma's Birthday {engaged}

Yesterday was my birthday.  I worked all day then came home to a nice dinner breakfast.  We had eggs, pancakes, and bacon.  We cleaned up and Lily brought me my gift.  I had originally asked for a vacuum but I knew Brian wasn't going to spend the $400 on the one I wanted.  So in the bag was the "As seen on TV" Cordless Swivel Sweeper.  Not quite what I wanted but I will get to that later...  Then in a little box at the bottom of the bag was this...

5+ years and 2 kids later... FINALLY!!!

Needless to say I was a little surprised.  I definitely wasn't expecting it.  We have no idea when we will actually get married.  So until then I will enjoy my gorgeous ring!!!

After I opened the ring, Lily was a bit jealous.  She really wanted to play with the box and have her own ring to wear.  I found one of her play rings and she was thrilled as ever.  Here is momma and her girl with their rings...

So... back to the sweeper.  I was a bit apprehensive about this thing considering it cost $20 plus we can get a $10 mail in rebate from Menards.  Brian charged the thing up last night and I fell in LOVE.  I am going to be using it all the time.  Lily makes the BIGGEST mess when she eats.  This little thing picked up all the food on the rug and works on the bare laminate floor.  What a dream!!!  Now I won't have to lug the 20 lb Hoover up the stairs to do a quick clean up...

1st day of Preschool

Today was Lily's very first day of preschool.  I had a special outfit made for Lily to remember her special day.  We got up, ate, took pictures and headed out the door in plenty of time... so I thought!  I'm a little embarrassed to admit she was LATE.  I didn't get to go to Lily's "Get Acquainted Day" last week since I was working.  There was so much information in her folder it was a little overwhelming.  In big bold letters and highlighted at the bottom of one of the sheets said 9:30-11.  I guess I missed the other part that said 9-11:30.  Anyway she only missed an introduction song.  (sorry Lily) Next time we will know.  I hardly even said good bye to her because there was a poor little boy screaming his lungs out for his mommy.  I dropped Lily off and out we went.

I was so bummed this picture didn't turn out.  Darn phone...

1st art project.  So proud of her!!!

While Lily was at preschool, I took Marley to the doctor.  She has been sick since Saturday.  Poor baby can hardly eat and is not a fan of having her nose sucked out.  Can't blame her but Lily LOVED it as a baby... still does.

She hasn't finished a bottle in days and sometimes takes her 30-40 minutes to eat soaking through 2 bibs.  She hasn't slept well either.  Come to find out she has a DOUBLE ear infection.  No wonder she felt so poorly.  Dr Macklem said she just knew it when she saw her eyes.  The same gunk was coming out of her eyes.  This is our very first ear infection we've had in this household.  Lily has never had one.  I hope this isn't a sign of what is to come in the very near future.  Marley is to take an antibiotic for 10 days then go back in 3 weeks to have her ears re-checked.  I'm also hoping she isn't allergic to the medicine as Lily was.  Get well baby girl!
