Instagram

I found another new iPhone app I LOVE!  You can take pictures with this app or edit other pictures in your albums.  I love the look it gives these photos...

Marley standing up by herself!!!

This one makes my heart melt :)

reminds me of pictures of me as a kid...

Zoo Day!

Yesterday I had the day off work.  Since our days off together are VERY few and far between we decided to take the girls to the zoo.  It was such a gorgeous day!  Marley didn't make a peep the entire trip and Lily was very good.  We had a nice lunch outside the aquarium then headed home.

I love the butterfly house... Lily even liked it this time :)

this parrot was soo loud! And first time seeing the lemurs.

There was a zoo helper cleaning glass while we were visiting the orangutans.  She said if you put your hand on the glass she would put her hand on top of it...  sure enough she did!  So cute!

Girls pics {Creative Images by Tammy}

Here are the girls pictures we had taken last month.  I didn't get any digital copies this time since we will be having family pictures taken in the fall.  So here are somes snapshots of their photos.  So precious!!!

Catch up...

{sigh}... Seems like I haven't had any free time.  Well maybe that because I haven't.  Here is a quick catch up on the past couple of weeks.

Marley is now eating mostly chunky foods.  I've made several new recipes for her and she has loved all of them.  She is doing such a great job!!!  She is also able to sit herself up from a crawling position and is able to pull herself up to standing position.  She's just growing up too darn fast :(

Lily got her very first hair cut yesterday.  She did a super job sitting still.  She had about 1 1/2 cut off and it looks so nice now.  Lily is also anxiously awaiting preschool to start.  She still thinks it is going to be "Ballerina School".  Too funny...

Lily said the funniest thing the other day... She was coloring at her table while I was doing dishes and she came running to me saying "there not working!!!"  She was holding 2 white crayons in her hand.  Cutest thing ever!

Lily has a HUGE love for my flowers.  So huge that she has practically picked ALL of them off the plants.

Last Monday, the girls picture was "picture of the day" on the Morning Blend.  Brian had taken this picture one day while I was at work then emailed it to Channel 3.  They chose it!

Here is Marley standing up for the 1st time... also while mommy was at work!

The girls have been playing together more and more.  Its so cute to see them interact.  Hopefully they will be best friends!

Then last Thursday we were all blessed with a lovely storm.  Thank heavens Brian got off work early or otherwise his truck would have been totaled.  Council Bluffs received baseball sized hail and the jail was hit very hard.  We missed the hail at home but lost power for a little over 8 hours.  It went off shortly after 7:30 pm and didn't come back on until after 4:00 am.  Just in time for me to get up for work.  We had tons of candles burning and the girls did very well considering...

Marley in the swing for the 1st time!

Ready for her FIRST haircut!

it was sooo long...

she even had gel in her hair... so pretty!

Marley's new food... Indian spiced lentil stew, quinoa with black beans and bananas, and cheesy broccoli casserole.  I also baked ginger plums.

Avoca Pool Day

Today the girls and I drove to Avoca so Lily could swim with her cousins.  She has never been to the Avoca pool and this was Marley's first time swimming.  At first Marley wasn't too thrilled with the cold water but ended up doing pretty well.  Lily was pretty bashful at first too and finally started going down the little frog slide later on.  She didn't want to leave but Marley hadn't napped at all and was starting to scream.  Thankfully both girls napped most of the way home.

Lily was too worried about her popcorn to look at the camera...

Nine Months

Miss Marley is 9 months old today!  Where oh where has the time gone?  Marley is the sweetest little baby.  She is smiley most of the time and generally happy.  She LOVES to be carried around by her mama!!!  I don't complain too much because Lily wasn't really a mamas girl so I love the fact that she needs the extra comfort from me.

Marley really wasn't having fun with the picture taking.  She woke up about 7:20 and was really tired.  She also wouldn't leave the sticker alone on her shirt.  Maybe we will try later!

Marley's first LUNCH!  mmm... yogurt!

messy baby!

Backtracking a bit... Yesterday I took Marley to her 9 month check up.  Everything checked out just fine.  She got one shot and did an awesome job.  We also got the go ahead for chunkier foods, proteins, and whole milk yogurt.  I also confirmed the fact that Marley has to remain rear facing until she is TWO!!!  As soon as I purchase a new car seat for Lily I will move Marley to Lily's big girl convertible car seat!!!   She is getting heavier to carry in the infant seat.

Patiently waiting for Dr. Macklem and then the nurse for the dreaded shot...

and after...

As of today, Marley is eating 3 meals a day and will hopefully be down to 4 bottles very soon!  She seems to be doing a GREAT job with her food.  She feeds herself puffs and baby mum mums and holds her own sippy cup with water.  At this point there isn't much she doesn't like.  I have a list of new meals to make for her in the next coming weeks.

Marley is still much smaller than her big sister.  At 9 months Lily weighed 22 lb 15 oz and was 28" tall.  Lily was wearing 12-18 month clothing!

Marley at NINE months:

18 lbs 5 oz
27.5"
Size 6-12 month clothing
Size 0-1 shoes (teeny tiny feet!)

Sits up without support
Army crawls
Pulls self up to knees on stationary object
Stands well with help
Stands holding onto furniture with some help
Naps 1-3 times per day (usually 2)
Sleeps 10-11 hours at night (except for last night :))
LOVES her binky
No favorite blankie right now but loves her teething toys and Sophie the Giraffe
